This 12-day primate safari and wildlife safari will start in Kigali, Rwanda, and end in Uganda all offering a unique and rewarding haven to experience one of Africa’s most unforgettable wildlife encounters. By using Kigali International Airport, travelers enjoy a shorter and more comfortable drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The journey takes you to the best tourist destinations in East Africa, where you will have a close interaction with nature, including mountain gorillas, abundant wildlife, breathtaking scenery, and rich cultural experiences in Uganda, and Rwanda. It involves visiting Kigali for a city tour, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda for golden monkey tracking, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for mountain gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park, and classic game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park for magical adventure experiences.

Wake up at leisure for breakfast, then go for the city tour. The Kigali city tour takes you to the major historical and cultural sites of Rwanda. You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial site commemorating the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. What a short video then walks through the exhibition! There are opportunities to visit the craft centers where you can purchase souvenirs from your stay in Rwanda, in turn supporting the families of women who make these items. You will have lunch at the local restaurant, where you will have a taste of the traditional Rwandan food. You are free to choose a cosmopolitan restaurant for a more diverse menu. After your city tour, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park and visit Iby’Iwacu cultural village, one of the few features that make Rwanda safaris exceptional.

Day One

Date : October 2, 2026

Arrival in Kigali- Transfer to your booked hotel in Kigali City

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional safari guide, who will transfer you to your booked hotel and then brief you about the entire safari. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day Two

Date : October 3, 2026

Kigali City Tour—Transfer to Volcanoes National Park—Visit Iby’Iwacu

Wake up at leisure for breakfast, then go for the city tour. The Kigali city tour takes you to the major historical and cultural sites of Rwanda. You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial site commemorating the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. What a short video then walks through the exhibition! There are opportunities to visit the craft centers where you can purchase souvenirs from your stay in Rwanda, in turn supporting the families of women who make these items. You will have lunch at the local restaurant, where you will have a taste of the traditional Rwandan food. You are free to choose a cosmopolitan restaurant for a more diverse menu. Day Three

Date : October 4, 2026

Volcanoes National Park-Golden Monkey Trekking-Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Rise early in the morning, have breakfast, and get ready for the day. Your safari guide will take you to the park information center for a pre-trekking briefing regarding the guidelines for golden monkey trekking. To find these golden monkeys in their natural environment, armed rangers will then take you into the bamboo jungle. Other primate species to see include the blue, red-tailed, and black and white colobus monkeys. Upon seeing these beautiful golden monkeys, you will spend an hour exploring and learning about the habits and lifestyle of these fascinating golden monkeys as they constantly switch between trees. After you have critically examined their behaviors, retire and head back to the lodge to refresh as you share stories about the experience. After lunch, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the Rushaga sector, which is located in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will cross the Rwanda-Uganda border with assistance from your guide, ensuring a smooth transition. You will arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, spend your evening at leisure until dinner, and stay overnight at the lodge.

Day Four

Date : October 5, 2026

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park – Mountain gorilla trekking experience

Today, wake up very early to get your backpack ready. Dress in long trousers, waterproof hiking shoes, a long-sleeved shirt, a waterproof jacket, and heavy-duty gloves for the mountain gorilla trekking experience, as the weather can change suddenly. After breakfast, pack a picnic lunch, meet your safari guide, and drive to the park center for a pre-trekking briefing about the rules and behavior around gorillas. You will be in groups of eight, assigned a gorilla family to track, with guide support. The search can last from 45 minutes to 6 hours, so be prepared for a physically demanding walk. If you feel unfit, choose a nearby family; if fit, a challenging one might be more enjoyable.

During your forest walk in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, you might see various wildlife like chimpanzees, African elephants, and different birds. Your forest guide will share

information about everything you encounter to enhance your experience. When you meet your assigned mountain gorilla family, you will spend an hour with them. Keep your voice low and feel free to take photos and ask questions. Watch for Mr. Silverback, the family leader. It’s best not to look directly into the gorillas' eyes, and if they come close, remain calm and quiet. After your visit, you will receive trekking certificates for helping conserve these endangered animals. You will have lunch and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check in at your lodge, have dinner, and stay overnight at the lodge.

Day Five

Date : October 6, 2026

Queen Elizabeth National Park - Morning game drive safari – 2-hour afternoon boat cruise safari on the Kazinga Channel

Wake up early and have breakfast to get ready for your day. Dress in light clothes and take a packed breakfast, simple shoes, a sweater, an extra camera battery, binoculars, and others. Leave your lodge at 6:30 AM to start a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its active wildlife during the early hours. The park hosts many animals, including lions, leopards, hippos, elephants, and buffalo. Your safari guide will help you spot animals and share information to enhance your experience. At 11:30 AM, return to your lodge for lunch and some leisure time before an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel at 3:00 PM. This cruise offers close views of hippos, crocodiles, and elephants. Afterward, return to your lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

Day Six

Date : October 7, 2026

Queen Elizabeth National Park - Drive to Kibale National Park Safari - Afternoon Chimpanzee Tracking

Rise up early for breakfast and transfer to Kibale National Park as you enjoy the beautiful scenery, including the legendary Rwenzori Mountains at a distance. Check in at your booked lodge, relax, have lunch, and prepare for the afternoon chimpanzee trekking experience. Prepare and dress appropriately for the day's highlight (chimpanzee trekking): a long-sleeved shirt, a camera, a rain jacket, waterproof hiking boots, and insect repellent. After meeting your safari guide, drive to the park information center for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking rules. Afterward, begin your forest walk to search for chimpanzees and other primates such as monkeys and baboons, as well as various mammals and bird species. Expect to spend about 30 minutes to 4 hours searching for chimpanzees, and you will spend with them a maximum of 1 hour for photos and videos. Retire and return to the park center for your participation certificate, and after returning to your lodge, relax until dinner and your overnight stay at your lodge.

Day Seven

Date : October 8, 2026

Kibale National Park—Visit Bigodi Swamp and Community Tour

Wake up at leisure, have breakfast and drive to Bigodi swamp for a nature walk and community experience. Bigodi sanctuary swamp is punctuated by biodiversity and lovely sceneries, and is a paradise to bird lover’s with over 138 bird species and hosting eight species of primates these include the grey- cheeked mangabey, black-and-white colobus, l’Hoest’s and blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and olive baboons plus other mammals like Bushbucks and mongooses can also be found here. The swamp is managed by the surrounding local community wish a purpose of preserving exclusive environmental features along with the wetland for future generation. So, during this walk, you will have an opportunity to spot several monkeys, and bird species. The Bigodi community walk, will take you through the nearby community to have a chance to interact with local people to know how they harmoniously live with wildlife species, take you through how they locally to their daily activities without applying the modern technology such as making nice gins from banana, making delicious coffee and making art crafts. After the walk, return to your lodge for lunch and relax. You may have an optional Kasenda crater Lakes scenic view or spend your evening at leisure until dinner and an overnight.

Day Eight

Date : October 9, 2026

Kibale National Park to Murchison Falls National Park.

After your breakfast, check out of the lodge and proceed with the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have an enroute lunch and in the evening, you will visit the Murchison falls to witness the breathtaking view of the falls and also enjoy the verbal burble of the falls as it drops into a pool of water. While at these strongest falls, you will see how the whole river Nile forces itself through a narrow gorge of only 7 meters wide and then drop 43 meters into a pool and then form a strong thunderous sound which is so lovely. After this spectacular experience drive across the bridge to your booked lodge for your evening, relax, have dinner and an overnight.

Murchison Falls National Park is a home to 76 recorded mammal species these include; Jackson’s hartebeest, Waterbucks, Hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, some primates like Chimpanzees, Olive baboons, Black and white colobus monkeys, Giraffes, Uganda kobs, Elephants, Caped Buffaloes, Lions, Leopards, Spotted hyenas, Civets, Warthogs, Oribis, Topis among others plus 450 recorded bird species such as the rare shoebill stork, Abyssinian ground hornbill, papyrus Gonolek, marabou stork, black bellied bustard, open billed stork among others. Day Nine

Date : October 10, 2026

Murchison Falls National Park – Morning game drive safari – Afternoon boat cruise along the Murchison falls – Spend your evening relaxing

Wake up very early to have a cup of coffee, get your packed breakfast and head to the northern sector of the park where superb game drive safaris are carried out. During the game drive, your safari guide will help you to spot several animals and share with you lot of information regarding various wildlife species that you will spot such as Caped buffalo, Elephants, Uganda Kobs, Jackson hartebeest, Roth child giraffes, oribis, Lion, Common warthogs some primates species on a lucky day, you may spot a leopard, have short break to enjoy your full breakfast and later proceed with your game drive to fully explore the park and be able to spot several wildlife species.

Later early afternoon, leave the jungle and return to your lodge to relax, have lunch and then drive to Paraa gathering point for an afternoon boat cruise safari on the River Nile which starts at 02:00 pm. The boat cruise safari goes upstream from the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the Murchison falls stopping few meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’ of the falls which will give you an amazing view of the fall and see how the River Nile drops into a pool. The boat cruise will take you through the zones of water mammals and birds like bloats Hippopotamus, Nile crocodiles, some birds like the Egyptian goose, goliath heron, kingfisher, pelican bee-eater, hornbill, cormorant, you may see some land mammals when they have come to drink water and swimming. After the boat drive back to your lodge and spend your night while relaxing, dinner and an overnight.

Day Ten

Date : October 11, 2026

Murchison Falls National Park –Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary –Drive to Entebbe

Rise up very early in the morning to have breakfast (6:30 am), check out of your hotel to start your drive to visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary found in Nakasongola district for the white Rhino tracking experience. Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is one of the destinations in Uganda where you can meet the white rhinos in the wilderness. Once Uganda had an adequate number of Rhinos which were found in Kidepo valley and Murchison Falls national parks but they became nationally extinct due to numerous illegal human activities such as poaching and civil unrest in early 1970s.

Therefore, in 2005 Ziwa Rhino sanctuary was established to re-introduction of Rhinos in Uganda’s wildlife inventory. During Rhino tracking, you will have a chance to see them close to their feet with the help of the local site guide and spend with them a maximum of one hour and you will be allowed to take as many photos as you would want so, you have to keep your camera on standby not to miss any great moment uncaptured. After you have had an unforgettable experience with rhinos, relax with a bottle of water and drive to Kabalega diner to have lunch. Later, proceed with the drive to Kampala City at your booked hotel.

Day Eleven

Date : October 12, 2026

Optional City Tour- Departure

Wake up at leisure, have your breakfast and after relax at the hotel or you may opt for an optional city tour which may involve a visit to Kasubi Royal Tombs, Nakasero Market, craft shops, Gaddafi Mosque, Kabaka’s palace, among others. After you will have lunch then you will be transferred to Entebbe international Airport to meet your return flight marking the End of your 11 Day Best of Rwanda and Uganda Primate and Wildlife safari.
