Lake Bunyonyi is in south-western Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale, and it is close to the border with Rwanda. The lake appears on the 5,000 Ugandan shilling note under the title "Lake Bunyonyi and terraces". Towns on its shores include Kyevu and Muko, while its 29 islands include Punishment Island and Bushara Island.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked.
Situated on Kasubi hill, within Kampala, Uganda, the Kasubi Tombs site is an active religious place in the Buganda Kingdom. To the Baganda the Kabaka is the unquestioned symbol of spiritual, political, and social state of the Buganda nation. As the burial ground for the previous four Kabakas, therefore, the Kasubi Tombs is a place where the Kabaka and others in Buganda’s complex cultural hierarchy frequently carry out important centuries-old Ganda rituals.
Your flight itinerary will be available online approximately 21 days prior to departure. All groups are issued electronic tickets (e-tickets), which means you only need to bring your passport to the airport for check-in.
We recommend planning on approximately $60 per day for spending money. This should cover lunches, beverages, souvenirs, free time activities and additional excursions.
A good night’s sleep is important, so travelers can count on safe, clean and comfortable hotels with private bathrooms. And rest assured, we inspect every hotel personally.
Some itineraries offer time for students to explore the city with fellow travelers and their Group Leader or chaperones. Your Tour Director knows the area well and can recommend local favorites and activities.
